923 – Death of Robert I, King of the Franks

Robert was the highest military commander in West Francia. He fought the Vikings and supported his kings, until he revolted against Charles the Simple’s politics. In 923, he died at the battle of Soissons. Legend has it, after a duel with Charles. Is unknown where he is buried (see Britannica).

960 – Death of St Eadburh of Winchester

Eadburh was a daughter of Edward the Elder. She went into the convent Winchester where she would eventually die. After her death, a cult around her person emerged and a number of hagiographies were written.
