1038 – Death of Gunhilda of Denmark

Gunhilda is the daughter of Cnut the Great and Emma of Normandy. She is sent to the German court at a young age to be raised there until her wedding to Henry III. After a slightly turbulent marriage she dies on a return trip from Italy from an epidemic (See Britannica). She was buried at a convent in Durkheim, Germany (see Find a Grave).
