1024 – Death of Alcuin of York

Alcuin was famous for his letters about the attack on Lindisfarne. He first lived in York, until Charlemagne convinced him to move to Aachen. Then he moved on to become the abbot of Tours where he dies and is buried.

1051 – Marriage of Henry I of France and Anna of Kiev

Henry married the younger daughter of Yaroslav, Grand Prince of Kiev, Anna of Kiev. In the nine years of their marriage, she bore him three sons and she would act as regent when their eldest son Philip was too young to rule himself.
