1010 – Battle of Ringmere

Battle between the Anglo-Saxons led by Ulfkytel and the Danes at Ringmere near Thetford, East Anglia. The Danes win. The battle is mentioned in the major chronicles and sagas, such as the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle and Heimskringla by Snorri. Who led the Danish army? The ASC suggests Thorkell the Tall, though it doesn’t seem confirmed as a general understanding.
