810, Death of Pepin, son of Charlemagne

Originally called Carloman and born around 777. He was the second son of Charlemagne and his second wife Hildegard. His name was changed to Pepin by 781 on the day he was crowned King of Italy. The sources state his death on this day, but with no further special mention.

975, Death of Edgar the Peaceable, king of England.

Edgar the Peaceable introduced many reforms in the country before he died unexpectedly which turned his succession into a battle of factions between his two teenage sons. He is buried in Glastonbury Abbey (see Find a Grave).
