The Digital Atlas of Roman and Medieval Civilizations is an interactive map, made by scientists at Harvard. It shows movements and routes based on the Roman infrastructure lasted well into the Middle Ages. During the Viking Age, these ancient Roman roads and waterways were still used to quickly move from one place to the next.
