The Cotton library

The Cotton Library in the British Library is a famous collection of manuscripts and texts. Its original owner/collector was Sir Robert Cotton who lived at the turn of the seventeenth century. There is a fine post about Cotton and his library on the BL’s manuscript blog. I mention this, because in this fine collection are versions of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle (version E), and Beowulf.
