In March 2016, a crucifix was found in a field in Denmark. It dates back to the 10th century, before Christianity firmly settled in Denmark. It turns out to be similar in style and appearance to crucifixes found in Birka, Sweden.

It is possible that this crucifix, the Birka one and another found in Denmark previously, are produced in the Viking Age trading town of Hedeby, Denmark.
